What should we do if there's an earthquake?
How should we act when there's a fire?
Many kids cannot answer these questions, but at Hisaya we know how important emergency preparedness is.
Every month we practice an evacuation drill. Students are asked to remind each other what we should and shouldn't do during an emergency. After we have refreshed our memories, we hear the practice alarm and we quickly get our shoes and exit the building and go to our safety area in the nearby park.
Pictured you can see us at our halfway point where we line up after carefully climbing down the stairs.
This month we also took some time to discuss earthquake safety
. As you can see, our students are practicing proper safety positions, covering their heads next to a wall. They know that in the event of an earthquake they should not be near any windows or things that could fall down.
Everyone did so wonderfully!
