Hisaya International Preschool is looking for a friendly and responsible teacher to join our teaching team. Hisaya International Preschool is the international preschool division of our parent company, Happy English Club Ltd, located in Nagoya, Japan.

What kind of teacher are we looking for? 

You love teaching and enjoy working with young children. You are a teacher who cares about the fine details of Early Childhood Education and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). You have a high EQ. You can listen to feedback (meaning criticism) without getting upset and incorporate that feedback into your work routines. You know how to get along with managers and co-workers so we can strive toward our common goals as a team. You are committed to continually improving your teaching methods. 

The preschool team teaches children between the ages of 2 years to 6 years old. We teach using our own in-house highly developed curriculum, which is part of our overall plan to achieve bilingualism by the time the children graduate from our school at 5 or 6 years old.

In return for your dedication, we provide a competitive salary and approximately 6 weeks of paid vacation time. A full and regular training program is also offered to all new entrants as well as a dedicated career track for any educators who are looking for something more long term. We also offer performance and contract completion bonuses. Our policy is to recognize and reward superior performance. 
Required skills and experience:
  1. Must be a native English speaker.
  2. Must have prior work experience with young children. 
  3. Must have experience working as a part of a successful team. 
  4. Minimum 1 year commitment to our school. 
  5. Must have a 4 year degree from an accredited university 
  6. Should have a connection to Japan (prior work experience in Japan, foreign studies, Japanese language studies, family, etc.)

Job Details:

  • Full time work / Monday - Friday
  • 40 total work hours per week
  • 6 weeks paid vacation per year 
  • Salary range 1st year teacher 265,000 to 295,000 yen/month
  • Bonus for holding valid teaching credentials
