Hisaya International Preschool is looking for a friendly and responsible full time preschool teacher to join our teaching team. Hisaya International Preschool is the preschool division of our company, Happy English Club Ltd.

What kind of teacher are we looking for? You like teaching and you like to work with young children in all their cute and occasionally stinky glory. You care about the fine details of Early Childhood Education and TEFL methodology. You have a high EQ and good people skills. You know how to get along with managers and co-workers so we can strive toward our common goals as a team. You can follow directions. You are committed to continually improving your organizational and teaching skills.

The preschool team teaches children between the ages of 2 years to 6 years old. We teach using our own in-house highly developed curriculum, which is part of our overall plan to achieve bilingualism by the time the children graduate from our school at 6 years old.

In return for your dedication and teaching skills, we provide a competitive salary and approximately 6 weeks of paid vacation per year. A full and regular training program is also required as a part of employment as is ongoing teacher training and professional development. Improving your work skills is a part of your job. Monthly transportation costs are provided as well as a contract completion bonus and a performance based bonus. It is our policy to recognize and reward superior job performance.

Required skills and experience:

  1. a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year university
  2. experience working with kids.
  3. teaching license / ECE coursework or equivalent work experience
  4. prior work or life experience in Japan.
  5. minimum 1 year commitment to the job
  6. good people skills / a high EQ
  7. behavior that is consistent with that of an Early Childhood teacher
  8. the ability to work independently once a clear direction has been given
ESL teacher reading to children in Japan.

Job Details:

  • 260,000 – 280,000 yen / month
  • 5 day work week / working with young children
  • 40 work hours per Week
  • 6 weeks Paid Vacation / Year (Golden week, Summer and Winter vacation, etc.)
